Digital World Tokyo Reviews Vaio UX-50
Digital World Tokyo reviews the Vaio UX and concludes:
…if you have a need for a very-capable handheld PC, then you’ll probably love the UX50 in a heartbeat; if not, then you’ll simply marvel at the technology it packs in and move on. The choice is yours.
I would like to mention what they didn’t like about the UX: keyboard is too cramped, too small screen, and short battery life. I would reserve my judgment on the keyboard until I use it. As for the screen, I like the SVGA screen and there’s the zoom buttons if you need it. As for the batteries, I guess a spare VGP-BPS6 would be helpful.

As a user of the u70 for two years, this is heading in the direction that i personally like. traveling a lot makes carrying a laptop a pain and with the advent of ditital tvs coming to hotel rooms, one will not have to stare at this small screen to much longer.
as far as the keyboard, some of these reviewers need to get with it and look to bluetooth keyboards and bluetooth mouse. Sony’s only has two short sights; first is to not have made it a phone but that I can live with that; the second is to not have made it work wirelessly to transmit to a tv so we do not need cabling.
To bad that HP did not continue with adding features to the IPAQ 5555 as that appeared headed in this direction also.
I, for one, look forward to trying it as I enjoy traveling lighter.

Performance is about 20% faster than my Dell 1.8 GHz Centrino. And it can play back high def video filling the 1024×600 screen at 60fps. An incredible unit. Read the post for more details. Also tells about getting around a sound card issue you may have as you install English Windows XP on the Japanese unit.
