Sony Vaio UX as a VoIP Phone
Type U shows off how the Vaio UX can be used as a Voice over IP (VoIP) phone. Sony properly designed the Vaio UX with a small speaker at the upper left and a small microphone at the lower
right, perfectly aligning them to the left or right ear and mouth respectively.
It is also interesting that Skype comes with the Vaio UX along with other Instant Messaging (IM) software pre-installed. Skype announced earlier this month that anyone can now call land lines and mobile phones in the United States and Canada for free until the end of 2006.

I hadn’t noticed the significance of the layout of speaker and mic on my unit until seeing this article. Up until now I had simply wondered why there weren’t two speakers for stereo sound! This answers that question. Thanks for the tip.
