Vaio UX Keyboard Backlight
Sony must have been impressed with the Apple PoweBooks and thus added the light sensitive keyboard backlighting feature on the Vaio UX. Type U indicates that Sony did a good
job on the blue keyboard backlighting as it gradually turns on when you slide up the screen, and gradually fades out when you slide the screen down. It does the same slow-off when it is not in use and does the slow-on when a key is pressed — quite a neat power saving feature.
The keyboard backlight can be permanently turned-off from the CMOS. Check a screen capture of the CMOS screen after the jump.

Man, black and blue, so cool looking
. I’m aching that I can’t have this right now >.
The keyboard backlight effect comes through pretty well during a quick unboxing video I shot at a Japanese temple of all settings:

I love the little unit. Perfect for travel. Helped out tremendously while on my vacation in Japan. Comes installed with a great map of Japan (only in Japanese, but still quite good.)
