Hmmm . . . so I tried to pre-order the UX17TP last week. The website actually lists the OS as multilingual (English) but with Traditional Chinese installed by default. My Chinese and patience are not good enough to go for the Traditional Chinese OS so I asked about the English. To make a long story and many follow up calls by my secretary short, it seems that it will ship here with just a Traditional Chinese OS and software for the time being (or that's the plan today anyway). There are apparently “software problems with the English.” I have no idea what that means and whether it is just for the local multilingual version. It may also simply be someone covering for someone else’s mistake on the website so be warned. I am though expecting a further update on when or whether the multilingual version will ship locally (or whether they will be kind enough to arrange for one if not). I will post an update when I know more.
