To fix stylus calibration problem (the farther you get away from the middle of the screen the more the pointer is off) under XP, you need to install the touch panel driver included in "Windows XP driver application Pack" and use calibration utility that comes with the driver.

Hey guys,

I just tried installing tablet edition on a 280p. the set up ran normally, but upon reboot, no tablet functionality... what did i do wrong?

I'm using an MSDN copy labeled "Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005" (legal).

i just can't figure out how to get tablet stuff working.

NOTE that i just did an upgrade, not a full / fresh install. Do you have to do a full/fresh install to get the tablet features to work?

Thanks!

(this forum is great!)

Anyone have the ux with vista? I just got the 380. Vista seems to have limited tablet apps for the ux indicating that the UX in not a tablet.

So I am wondering if XP for tablet is a better way to go.

And how do you operate software when the screen is zoomed. Either default in the zoom setup still makes apps difficult. I wind up chasing the program around the screen to execute anything.

I am getting real frustrated with the box, so any encouragement would be great.

Thanks

I recently installed xp tablet 2005 on my ux280p and there is a problen with the screen. The farther that i get away from the middle of the screen I get with my stylus the more that the pointer is off. The pointer will not go to the corners when my stylus is tapping there. I have tried to calibrate the pen and it does not help. Does anybody have a solutions to this problem?

Hello David,

I am kinda new to these forums.
I just bought a brand new Sony UX280p with Windows XP Pro installed on it from the Sony factory. I think if I had Windows XP Tablet PC installed on it
I could use the UX280p like my Palm Pilot by being able to write on the screen and having that text stored in various applications.

Now my question: I can get a licensed version of 2005 Windows XP Tablet.
Can I install that right on top of the existing system ?

Thanks in advance,

Dan Kuraner

Hello,

for my new UX90S (with an English WinXP Pro) I'd like to have the Tablet PC XP on this new machine. I have the installation CDs from a broken Tablet PC. However, can anybody tell me whether an upgrade is possible, or must I do a complete new install?

Thanks,
oherzog
