This device does not detect bootable USB pen drives. I assume that is a BIOS bug. Is there a version that fixes this?

OK, I had the courage to update my UX50, and I was scared that I had killed it. Followed the directions, ran the updater, and it hung. After waiting over an hour, I decided what the hell, nothing left to do but kill the process and reboot. After rebooting, the BIOS screen showed up and I felt so relieved. Then it booted up some DOS-type program that said it was updating the KBC flash or something similar. After that, I cycled the power, and went into the BIOS setup, and noticed the version was updated to R0061N2. Everything else looked like normal, but I loaded the default settings anyway (a habit from updating the BIOS on desktop motherboards), reset my options, then saved & exited. Windows boots fine and nothing seems to be broken. Did I just get lucky, or is there something seriously wrong with their updater?
