Menlow-based MIMD UMPC from EB

A few more details have surfaced about EB’s “MIMD” (Mobile Internet Multimedia Device) UMPC. Based on Intel’s Menlow Chipset, the UMPC is set to include Mobile WiMax, HSDPA, GPS, as well as a 4.8″ screen. It shares a highly UX-esque design using a sliding screen to hide a thumb keyboard and placing the mouse buttons on the right with what appears to be a thumb mouse on the left.
Upon closer examination of EB’s site it almost sounds as though they are offering the design as a basis for another company to design a UMPC around.

Wow. I like what I see, including the apparent size and depth of the device.
Menlow sounds pretty good too. “The “Menlow” platform will include a 64 bit processor, DDR2 memory, solid state NAND flash drives and dedicated graphics processing capability. In addition to those goodies, “Menlow” will also allow users to squeeze more battery life out of their UMPCs. Reports say that it can obtain up to 6 hours of use, and survive 10.5 hours on standby.” (from gadgetell.com

Hmmm. That does look somewhat familiar…
I like the larger keys (are you listening Sony?) but I have grave doubts about the battery size, even if it’s a LiPoly and Menlow.
