New Sony Vaio Micro PC Coming

Sony USA has pulled the Vaio UX from SonyStyle. A recent thread in the Micro PC Talk forums discusses the fear of Sony, discontinuing the Vaio UX, only after three months since it was announced. While Sony is known for discontinuing a line of products
(e.g. Aibo, Clié, etc.) we got word directly from Sony USA […]

Akihabara News has just posted a video review of the new Vaio UX90PS, the new Micro PC with a solid-state 16GB flash drive. They compare its noticable, faster boot time with the Vaio UX50.
You can pre-order this black, special version of the Vaio UX at Dynamism for $2799. Personally, while I would like to […]

FCC Approves the Vaio UX

While the FCC shows that they have approved a Sony handheld device with model number PCG-1J1L, we believe that this is the Sony Vaio UX180P. PCG-1J1L is obviously a temporary model number since nowhere in all the
FCC documents mentioned ”Vaio” when the image found in one of the documents clearly has a Vaio brand at the back (”aio” […]

Vaio UX Keyboard Backlight

Sony must have been impressed with the Apple PoweBooks and thus added the light sensitive keyboard backlighting feature on the Vaio UX. Type U indicates that Sony did a good
job on the blue keyboard backlighting as it gradually turns on when you slide up the screen, and gradually fades out when you slide the screen down. It does the […]

Sony Vaio UX as a VoIP Phone

Type U shows off how the Vaio UX can be used as a Voice over IP (VoIP)  phone. Sony properly designed the Vaio UX with a small speaker at the upper left and a small microphone at the lower
right, perfectly aligning them to the left or right ear and mouth respectively.

It is also interesting that […]

Vaio UX B3M3CE Wallpapers

SonyStyle Japan has posted eight freely downloadable Vaio UX “Find You Own Style” wallpapers, with Sony, marketing the different uses of the Vaio UX: Browsing, Blogging, Business, Mapping, Music and Movie,
Communication, and Entertainment (which I’m coining the term B3M3CE).

This reminds me of the Sony “CLIE” Palm OS PDA which stood for Communication, Link, Information, and […]
