I paid double this price. This is an an amazing deal on the perfect accessory to use the UX as a projector on the go for presentations or gaming. Check it out at amazon: http://www.amazon.com/MITSUBISHI-PK20-Mitsubishi-Pocket-Projector/dp/B000I28EGC/sr=11-1/qid=1167365540/ref=sr_11_1/102-9482627-2327338

WOW! Wish I had waited to a few months...oh well, gotta pay to play in the cutting edge tech game :-) That is a *great* price...wonder if they lowered the battery also? Could Mitsu be getting ready to unveil a new model at CES2007 in a few weeks? Wouldn't be surprised one bit, even though it took them about a year to release the PK20

Of course, Mitsubishi is offering its own $100. rebate which makes me think maybe they are phasing it out. I mean look how quickly the UX 180 was replaced.

Yeah, it's still $799 at Circuit City...I think it was just overpriced to begin with, especially compared to all the low-priced projectors that were advertised during the holidays...
On that $100 rebate form, it also states that you can get an extra $50 rebate if you buy a battery on the same invoice...too bad I'm outside my return window, or I could return mine and repurchase for the new, lower price :-(
I still love my PK20, though...
Everyone, please, stop talking about the PK20, unless it is to announce availability in Canada.

I don't see how the two issues are related, so I choose to ignore it.
The 800x600 resolution is kind of low. I wish it was something in the 16:9 format. Anyhow it is a great price. The battery pack is $110 at amazon.

There is no question that the resolution is low. But the fact that it is so small, fits in your hand and even works at all is amazing. The technology isn't quite there yet. But in a dark room, it'll do for presentations. Here's to hoping there coming out with a better model. But hey, it's just like the UX; you pay a premium for the size. A lot of tasks are to to do on a UX, but the fact that you have a full windows XP PC in your hand is amazing. Of course some sacrifices had to be made to get that size. Ditto for the pk20. When perfect image quality isn't critical, they make a perfect pair for mobile presentations. With this retractable S video cable (http://sewelldirect.com/zip-links-videoandrca.asp) and the pk battery you're all set. (In a dark room!)

I agree it was expensive, but so is the UX. You can get desktop systems with all the specs of a UX for much cheaper than a UX, but they're huge in comparison. I am sure none of those cheaper projectors were anywhere near as small as the pk20. Also standard projectors use bulbs with a limited life that need to be replaced at about $150 a pop. The pk20 uses an LCD technology that (effectively) never needs to be replaced. It's like any new technology: expensive at first until they start producing enough. The resolution of the pk 20 is twice as good, I believe, than the pk 10. Hopefully this one is dropping on price because the "pk30" is on the way. I'll be smart though this time and sit out one upgrade cycle and wait for the pk 40....

Do you have pictures of the UX w/ this projector in action? I really wanted to get it but a bulky VGA cable just ticks me off (don't want to use svideo).

This adapter is another way to go, but it is more than $200....http://www.mwave.com/mwave/skusearch.hmx?SCriteria=4124276&CartID=done&nextloc=
With this adapter, you can project wirelessly from the UX to the pk20 (or any other projector with a vga port). So no need this way for VGA or S video cables. I prefer the retractable s video cable solution for $14 bucks myself. But this could be an elegant way to go....
See pdf from Mitsubishi here: http://www.mitsubishi-presentations.com/pdf/Mitsubishi_EchoView.pdf
I guess it uses a wifi connection you setup. What do you think of it, aside from the price?

There are thin VGA cables you can buy, where the wire is about 50% thinner and the VGA ends are much more compact...just Google "Thin VGA cables" or something like that and you'll see the different ones available. I didn't go to this extreme, i just bought a short VGA cable, that works for me...
