hi guys,
just a quick FYI, i was able to get BVRP Connection Manager Pro to work with the WWAN modem in my ux280p (running Windows XP,sp2).
i downloaded the current version (trial, pro) and installed. It did not detect the modem out of the box, but i added a new USB device, and while the software was 'looking for device', i switched the modem off, then back on and the BVRP Connection Manager Pro found it. It could not initially identify the device, so i selected the Sony Ericsson GC75 modem out of the list manually. After that, it worked fine. I renamed the device and profile just 'cause i'm picky like that...
anyway, i no longer need CCM or SmartWiFi. Note that i left them both installed, just not running to avoid potential problems that others have reported (i.e. modem driverse being uninstalled by uninstalling CCM).
I'm using the wwanmoduleutil.exe tricks as posted elsewhere in the Wireless forum on this site to turn the modem on and off (shortcuts on my desktop).
Works great so far!
thx,
J
