View Full Version : Anyone else a gamer?

I'm bored tonight. Felt like starting a new thread :)
I've been a gamer since birth. It started with the 2600. Owned a Colecovision and an Intellivision. Moved onto the NES after that and owned every major gaming system since. I don't have any strict loyalties. I slowed down during the Gamecube period since I was in college and decided to date and club instead of game. I returned during the heyday of the PS2, and I've been a serious gamer ever since. I even hit the Street Fighter tournament scene for a number of my college years. Realistically, I only have time to game on the go nowadays, so it's all PSP for me (with some DS action thrown in).
I'm now replaying the Warcraft III campaigns once more because of my wonderful UX. My Wii is my primary means of entertainment when my buddies drop by. I'm psyched for Mario party this coming week! Anyone else a gamer? Serious? Casual?

I'm a serious gamer. I play a lot of PS2 RPGs and Strategy RPGs. I like both the PSP and the DS also, and have a lot of games for them. I mod my PSP and play homebrew on it as well. Just got Odin Sphere, and I've been playing Rogue Galaxy off and on. Started out on the Apple II+ with the Zork games, then Ultima, moved to the PC and did Sierra Online games (King's Quest, Quest for Glory, etc...) then I got out of it for awhile. Came back at the end of the PS1's cycle and started with the Final Fantasy games. Now my whole family plays (especially stuff like Guitar Hero), so it's become a lifestyle for us.
Also, my 32 GB SSD drive arrives tomorrow supposedly, so I'm getting ready to mod my UX180P. Wish me luck! :)

I'm into games too...like to try different things. I've got a DS and a Wii. Playing Wii de yawaraka atama juku which is a a kind of brain training academy game...lot of fun on the Wii. Making my way (all be it slowly through Zelda too!).
On the DS I am playing Sangokushin XI which is a sort of tactical Japanese samurai fighting game from Sega. The graphics are great and alot of fun (though still working my way through its nuances at its all in Japanese :) )
Just wish I had the time to play them!

I love PC games. I found myself buying consoles and not playing them, but I've been playing games on personal computers since the TI-99/4A was home computer king. Then again, I've noticed I'm a lot less inclined to buy new games these days in favor of playing older games I enjoyed in the past. The most recent game I've purchased a month or so ago was Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. For some reason, I didn't get it when it came out but enjoyed the first one and somewhat enjoyed the second one.
I sometimes play Minions of Mirth, which is an indie MMORPG type game(which only works on the UX with an external display hooked up and refuses to work with less than 1024x768).
I guess the main reason I got the UX was because I wanted a PC for gaming that fits in my pocket like a PSP or DS.

I'm maybe the GAMER!!
I was creating games with my ZX81, Spectrum and PC8086 ever since. Later I worked at a CG companies creating game graphics for Gameboy, Playstation, Nintendo, PC, PDAs and others. Then the CG stuff went more to print media, commercials and movies... . One of the latest games I helped was making the textures for EDGE, a RPG for Palm devices. At time I'm using the XNA platform for PC and XBOX creating games.
Favourite genre is RPGs/adventure, Puzzle games and platform games. I like sometimes shooting games too.
Favourite RPG is Balders Gate series, Icewind Dale series and Sacred on the PC.
On the handheld is Zelda and Wario series.
On the Wii I'm playing Zelda too.
I own: Gameboy color, Gameboy advanced, Gameboy micro, Wonderswan, Wonderswan color, NDS lite, PSP and Wii. I got the PSP on release day without waiting in a line, but I haven't used it that much since, only for 3-4 games. For the Wii, I waited as the 5th inline for 16hours overnight in front of BicCamera store. My main device at time is the NDS lite.

16 hours overnight! That's hardcore. We have a Circuit City, Best Buy, Gamestop and Target nearby, so for my Wii, I drove around to each of those at 5 in the morning, and the Toys R Us line was the shortest. I was number 28 out of 40. I got lucky.
I visited my parents for Memorial Day, and found my old Lynx. I'm talking the big honking, original Lynx that's about twice the size of my UX. I developed quite the biceps lugging this thing around as a kid.

Add me to roster! I like so much to play with the UX because I travel daily and when I do these trips, if I don't got sleeping, I do some sessions with abandoneware (titles as Detroit, X-Com: Terror from The Deep) but also graphic adventure, the lucasarts (LucasFilm) old-school (The Dig, DOTT, Indy, ...).

Gamer here: Started with a friends Nintendo, then Super Nintendo > Gameboy > Pocket Gameboy > Gameboy Color > Nintendo 64 > Dreamcast > Xbox > PSP > Xbox 360.
Xbox 360 is currently my love and joy, I've been a Halo fanatic ever since I first played it, and I'm currently playing the Halo 3 Beta. The 360 is a wonderful system even if your not a gamer (for its DVD/Content Download/Streaming capabilities, don't forget you can add an HD-DVD player : P). I'd probably be hacking up my PSP to use with my UX if it wasn't stolen a year or so back : (
We definitely need to get a MPCT Halo group going!

Strangely, I've never owned an Xbox. Nothing against Microsoft or the system, I guess I've always gravitated towards the Playstations. My old frat brothers on the other hand played NO video games whatsoever... but they played Halo. So if I'd go down to watch some basketball or play cards, I would inevitably end up playing some 4 on 4 with them.
My Wii and PS3 get some of mileage, but my PSP is still my favorite gadget (over my 280P!). I'm playing old Lucasarts games on it, and I've started reading e-comics on it over my UX. While mame is in a sad state, other emulation rocks. In addition to the old standbys (nes, snes, tg16, genesis, etc.), PS1 emulation is amazing. CPS1 and CPS2 are sweet, and SCUMMVM is a great timesucker. Neo Geo, too!
I have such little time to play console games these days, that after all these years of gaming, the PSP may be my favorite system of all time.

I once owned a original Xbox. I won that thing at our company's christmas game as first price. I was very happy, but turned into frustration soon, as there were no really interesting games out at that time. Only some racing and sports games. And the shops in the US didn't sold ant games to the rest of the world. Still waited for a half year and I sold it.:(
Also not to mention the lots of money I spented in game halls, playing Arcade games!! It's now much cheaper with the UX!!

Another arcade rat! I literally grew up in Vegas arcades. From the age of maybe 6 until I entered junior high. From there I was all over the Street Fighter tournament scene. I LOVE arcades, and it pains me to see them die such a slow death.
On another note for you Wii owners... I purchased Mario Party, and me and my girl invited another couple over to test it this weekend. Needless to say, we were playing Rayman and Wii Sports again within the hour. Not recommended :(

So in addition to missing the N64 age of gaming, I also missed the bulk of the PS2 age. That was around the time I was starting my career and going through some nutty personal things. I've purchased a PS3, and since the recent PS3 crop hasn't exactly excited me, I thought I'd go back and sample some PS2 classics! So far I've scooped up the following:
Okami (Currently playing. Pretty damn fun.)
God of War I and II (Finished both consecutively. Engaging stuff.)
ICO (Still haven't cracked open.)
Final Fantasy X (Loved it. Just finished it.)
Rygar (because I'm an old school arcade rat :p )
Katamari Damacy (So my girlfriend can play something with me instead of watch. She kicks my ass, btw.)
Shadow of the Colossus (Kind of slow for me. Sold it back on ebay pretty quick :( )
Any console gamers out there wanna give a brother some suggestions? I play all genres. I'm looking for anything cool I might have missed. Hits, sleepers, whatever you can suggest. My weeknights have been pretty free :o

I love C&C3 and hate games not on the PC - I think that it is just the controllers that I don't like as many of the games that are on both I prefer the PC versions with keyboard and mouse such as CoD1&2 etc...
I did have a big Return to Castle Wolfenstien thing going on for a long time
many late nights and dare i say it all days playing that....:o

I've finally decided to pick up a few games for my dusty ol' PS3.
Virtua Tennis is too fun. Yeah, I said it!
I've only played Resistance online (maybe a half hour into the campaign), and it ain't bad, I suppose. I'm still not comfortable playing FPS with a pad.
Ninja Gaiden is godly.
I also have Guitar Hero: Rock the 80s coming in soon. Best Buy (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8376063&st=guitar+hero&type=product&id=1178925992487) has a GREAT deal for those of you that are interested. $39.99 USD plus a $15 gift card. I hope you kept your PS2, though because the Nyko PS2 adapter is mucho booty. Hammer-ons and pull-offs simply don't work. Boo shady advertising!
That's my ramble for the day. God, I wish we had more console gamers.

i was a serious gamer, now i consider myself a casual gamer... i started with Texas Instruments TI-99 (http://oldcomputers.net/ti994a.html) and played that until i got my NES in 86. from then on out, i had every major system until the ps2 until i was robbed and all of them were taken. after that, i never rebuilt my collection, only repurchasing my PS2 (which, in hindsight, was a mistake considering after that the only game i played on it was final fantasy 12, which i didn't even get all the way through)
today i only use my PC for games. with my last FIA refund check, i built my dream machine that can run any game into the distant future:
2.66GHz Intel Core2 Duo
ECS NFORCE 570 SLIT-A Motherboard
4GB Corsair DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
ATI Radeon x1950 Pro 512MB PCIE
Super Talent SATA 32GB SSD
Western Digital SATA 150GB HDD
Cooler Master Centurion Case (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119068)
2x Plextor Slot-Load 16x DVD+R
all water cooled with a custom rig :D

Man, I might HAVE to. I've never been a loyalist to any one console brand, but after getting my PS3, I picked up Virtua Tennis, played for a while and read that it has no online play, but the 360 version does... well that sucks. So I sparked up Virtua Fighter thinking I could go back to my arcade days and find some real competition online. BBZZT! Wrong again! PS3 version has no online play, but surprise, surprise, the 360 version does.
This is the case with too many games.
With my arcade history, I LOVE playing with/against other people. I can no longer sit on my ass for 40 hours engorged with a game that has a human population of one. My game budget is tight at the moment, but I'll be picking one up within the next few months. I can't wait for the Street Fighter HD game.

Ok, I realize I'm one of the only gamers in the room. I can accept that. But maybe. Just maybe one of our newer members share my addiction.
But benz and enterman... rest assured. With the new 360 price drop, I'll be joining the cause soon. I'll be ready for Halo 3. Trust me.
Anyway, my Wii is gathering dust. There has been nothing of note for a few months now. I'll probably pick up The Darkness for the PS3 because the demo blew me away.
Most of my gaming hours have been occupied by one game.
Virtual On, (http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/virtualon/virtualon.htm) baby.
Yep, I picked up a pair of Twin Sticks on ebay, and any time one of my buddies stop by, we end up playing for hours. It's like we're kids again cruising around to various Southern California arcades looking for challengers.
Most of you are scratching your head. If you were a fan of the Robotech (or any mecha) cartoons as a kid (yes, that means you're probably in your 30s), this game was a childhood dream come true.

The rest of this site, while visually resembling a poorly designed homepage from the aol age, is video game nostalgia incarnate. Good stuff for gamers of any generation.

Dud you bring back memories regarding the arcade version of Virtul On. We used to have tournaments on that thing!
I absolutely LOVE most any robot/mech game. Know of any that will run well on a UX280P? (preferrably without having to use an external controller?)

That ROCKS. I was a serious tournament player in my younger days, but for fighting games like Street Fighter. My arcade was one of the test sites for Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram. I intend to play it the second I get home.
I've heard mixed reviews about WarTech: Senko no Ronde for the 360... most reviewers seem to hate it, but I have a few gaming buddies who swear by it. Any experience with that game?
I don't game much on my UX, strangely enough. My few free gaming hours are typically spent on my PSP or PS3. A 360 is, however, in my immediate future.

The PSP may go down as my favorite system of all time simply because of how well the emulators run. The PSP games ain't bad either as I'm playing Monster Hunter Freedom 2 now, and it's sooooo good.

I used to live in Japan.
I spent at least $10 US a day on the arcades for a 1.5 year period.
I was the ultimate master of Virtual On (at least I was never beaten - but mostly people never played me).
Except one day when 7 Japanese guys (who were definitely regular gamers) saw me playing.
There were two machines back-to-back with a score counter at the top with big red numbers showing how many people (not one player) I had beaten. The count was at zero until these guys showed up as I was playing against the computer with the opposite seat empty.
It was strange because each guy was better than the last - as if they knew their own ranking. I demolished the first 6 and was about to be beaten by the last guy with a lightsabre-like attack, just in that split second the power for my main lasers came back (he was way ahead and I had almost nothing left so I could not afford to "trade punches") and I emptied the whole "magazine" against him just as he was about to strike. He went down and they all made a lot of noise and left.
Another time I was playing street fighter 2 and each of us had literally nothing left and I had just been thrown down. I tried a small uppercut and timed it so well (if I have to say so myself) and I won.
Once a japanese guy came up to me after I beat someone on the big screen in the arcade with many watching and said "you are fuckin' guy" <or something similar>.
Great great memories.

How much of a difference does the 224 MB of shared Video RAM in the 380p make compared to the 280p's 128MB for gaming purposes? I am thinking of getting a UX, and would like to do some light gaming on it.

Ok, benz, enterman... I spent entirely way too much at Best Buy today, and I got a 360 Elite with Bioshock. I'll be dining on Top Ramen for a few month to recoup the cost.
I was so excited when I got home until I realized... it doesn't wifi??? Are you shitting me? I ran back out to Best Buy and cringed when I saw that the price of a wireless adapter was $100. I was ready to cry... but I wasn't about to run another ethernet cable across my living room floor. Total damage = more than I want to count (especially since I picked up Heavenly Sword for the girlfriend while I was there).
So yeah. Halo 3. I'll be there.

Yes Rors! You rule! We need to see some pics of your Xbox setup, also get yourself signed up with Xbox Live ASAP. Sorry about the no Wi-Fi surprise. I didn't really like Bioshock that much for the Xbox 360, the controls were sluggish and annoying, don't let that set your benchmark for gaming on the 360, try a game like Gears of War. By the way, once you get on Xbox Live you can download hundreds of free demos and vids, be sure to check that out! Also you should really pre-order Halo 3... soon : P
See you on the epic day of the 25th.

Wow, benz, you just gave the only non-glowing review of Bioshock I've heard from human lips. Glad to know you don't bow to the critics, though. I played it for 10 minutes last night (before the girlfriend got home and played Heavenly Sword for 2 hours straight...), and so far it's pretty compelling. I'm trying to keep an open mind going in since every critic and buddy of mine is saying this is the GREATEST VIDEO GAME IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLDŽ, so we'll see how it goes.
Gears of War should be arriving tomorrow. I also plan on finally picking up Oblivion, since the GOY edition just came out. The Halo pre-order has been placed!
My gamertag is Gekirou on LIVE. It's Japanese for... I dunno, for something really cool and tough. Be sure to add me, guys.
I spent the rest of the night downloading the 100+ game demos. Man, they put the PS3 to shame in that department.

Now I'm playing an interesting game called SuperPower 2, a global geopolitical simulation game which allows players to control entire countries. Players control countries in 3 major areas: political, economic and military, but this time, in a beautiful real-time 3D environment. Players build up their own countries and increase their influence in the broader world while competing against sophisticated A.I. Along the way, gamers make use of economic sanctions, political alliances, and military actions to wage their battles.

Some friend and myself already have a lan party planned for 25th. About 8 to 10 guys with hd lcd tv's, projectors and a few normal tv's. With some RedBull, MoutainDue, some Brews a few pizzas and were good to go.
Now that I think of it, I have to remember where I put my receipt for my pre-order?

Considering the technology we have, I think that one can definitely argue that it's the best ever. Well, it all depends on your personal criteria, but currently, the level of immersion in games is unprecedented (to the point that some people think we're we're approaching a point that games are TOO immersive), and with HD, a decent sound system and the lights out (can't forget to turn off the lights... most important element, imo), this game pulls me in like no other game in a very long time. And I like the controls! So :p
Can you tell this game won me over? Hey, at least I finally got a 360.
I can't wait for Halo 3 !! I think I may even try to pick it up at the re-opening of the store. Some store around my area are re-opening at 12AM on the 25th.

Yet another reason I bought a 360! Well, that and benz and enterman's prodding. My poor PS3 is collecting dust, and I can't stop playing Oblivion, Bioshock and random Live games. We've got midnight launches, too, but since I'm an old man, and I'm allergic to nerd (not you tremnatr, but a good number of the campers), I'll be home that night, but I will be at Gamestop bright and early to pick up my reserve copy :D

Must have lights out, I bough a projector pretty much for my 360. Playing on a 9 to 12 foot screen/wall is total immersion!!! (I do have to admit that when I have played Call of Duty I did feel a little motion sickness with all the motion in game. No problems in Halo or other games.)

I know, nerd is very catchy ! :)
I'm tring to convince the little lady that i'm going to be very sick the day of the 25th and I shouldn't go to work. I'm just looking out for fellow workers, I don't want to get them sick. LOL :D

How can you play FEAR on the UX. You must be using a 390 otherwise it'd be impossible.

nope ive got a ux71, which is the equivalent of the ux280p running windows xp on an 60gb hard drive, if you turn down some of the graphics parameters, i.e shading to minimum and volumetric lights off its really good with almost no stutter, very good FPS...it relly shows off what the lil ux can do, the graphics surpass those on a psp!!..id really recommend it, cos ive almost completed the game ive downloaded the F.E.A.R expansion pack, which plays well too (not as smooth as the first one). so you see its definately not impossible

I just got a call from Gamestop telling me about the midnight release! I'll be home finishing Bioshock. Is anyone hitting their game store at 12 am for this? Anyone picking up the Limited Edition with the helmet?
I'm doing the regular one myself, but I have no place telling other people about nerdy obsessions. Who's scoring the helmet???

Yes, I tried MSFS and X-Plane. Being a real-life pilot I can tell you though that the real airplane is much easier to fly than the sim. However, you can't start a new game should you crash the real thing :D

I guess I must be the old guy here... I started back in the seventies with a Commodore 64 (Remember Pong? ), moved to Atari console, and after that I played with the big toys while in the military for over 22 years:D . After I retired I picked up gaming once again with the Nintendo and the Super Nintendo. I play now the kids in their Playstation, but I'm definitely a PC gamer currently playing Halo 2, Hellsgate London, Unreal, and doing beta with Universe at War. I'm mostly into RPG and FPS games with a few Adventure titles thrown in.
I use both a Toshiba A105-S4397 for "big" screen play, and of course my UX 90 and HTC 8125 when on the road.

How is Halo 2 on the PC and the Windows Live service for gaming?

I'm still a hardcore gamer and have been for many years.
Started off with the GrandStand (pong etc) then onto the Spectrum +2 (Still have both and they work, in storage atm).
Then the NES and Master System (Which a "Friend" borrowed and I never saw them again).
I had a original PS but it turned out the guy who sold it to me had stolen it from his work place. So the bacon too it.
But at the moment my system list is:
Sega - MegaDrive (Genesis), Saturn, DreamCast
Nintendo - SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, GB, GBP, GBC (2), GBA, GBA SP (2), DS (2), DS Lite (2)
Sony - PS, PS2, PS2 (Jap), PS3 (Jap), PSP (Jap), PSP (US)
WonderSwan Colour
XBox
The consoles not connected to my TV atm are the MegaDrive, Saturn, PS and Jap PS2.
One of the GBC, GBA SP, DS, DS Lites, the WonderSwan and the Jap PSP is the misses portables.
I'll finally get an XBox 360 after Xmas (I was waiting for the HDMI 65n systems to get in the main stream). and that will replace my XBox (I also plan to reconnect the Saturn at that point as I will have space).
At the momment I'm spening most of my gaming time to the DS as I got Zelda a couple of weeks back and most of when I can play is when I'm at work on lunch. I plan to get a lot more time on the home systems in the next month or so as my life is slowly getting back to normal after all the shite I've had in the last 6 months.
I must have around 600 games atm (Not counting stuff for PC or the +2). I need to get at least an hour a day in. It helps carm me out and stops my from losing my licence by burning tread around the local area.

I can't complaint. Playing on my Halo on my Toshiba has been ok although I'm at the min reqs there:o . I play mostly single play so my adventures with Windows Live have been limited to give a good review. With Universe at War however, it was a fiasco:eek: the first few days getting off the ground.

Thanks enter and benz for talking me into getting a 360. I now have a pile of great games and no time to play them. Finally finished GoW and with the Orange Box waiting in the wings, I decided to jump on Assassin's Creed first. Damn, that game is nice.
Picked up Mario Galaxy, too. Not loving it after an hour, but that may change. Also have a pile of PSP games waiting to be played. I wish I was 12 again so I had the time to play these things.

I am a huge gamer, and I'm in the same boat rorshach is. Too many games, not enough time. I sold my 360 and my gaming rig a little while ago, now I just have my gamecube and whatever umpc I buy shortly. Deciding between ux and fujitsu u810, both will play xcom :) Though when starcraft 2 comes out, I may have to rebuild that rig, since I dought either will play that!

Over Thanksgiving, I played Xbox 360 over at my relatives. Mostly we played Halo 3 and Gears of War. I gotta say, GoW is MUCH better. We beat halo co-op in under an hour and the campaign story was lame. The dual-wield options were weak and only one new vehicle? It was ok, I thought, but I do not see what all the hype is about. GoW on the other hand gave a MUCH better gaming experience. The graphics were vivid, controls were awesome, and weapons rocked. Pretty soon I think I'll be getting an xbox. anyways just wanted to chime in my opinion. Ignore it if you want. Peace.

I can't believe how much dust my pretty black PS3 is collecting. The 360 is keeping me from getting any work done! I just passed Assassin's Creed, and now I'm flipping back and forth between The Orange Box and Mass Effect. I have Modern Warfare (highest rated 360 game at last check) sitting next to me still shrinkwrapped, too. Too much goodness.

I have been playing Crysis, Hellgate London, Unreal Tournament 3, and Gears of War for PC.
On the 390N I have been playing Diablo 2 over battlenet.

I used to be a serious gamer but don't have the time for that anymore - now I'm just a casual gamer. Mostly Oblivion on my PS3 when I'm home or one of my PSP games when I'm out. I bought my UX380 because I wanted something that I could play some PC games on (of course accepting that it wouldn't be some of the stuff I could play on a gaming computer). I've had an original XBox (actually still have it but selling it), GameCube, N64, SNES, GBA (original - it's in a drawer somewhere with a pile of games), Gameboy (again, original - misplaced it somewhere along the way), GameGear (also MIA), and a pile of various computers over the years. Have to say, PSP with custom firmware is probably my favorite overall since I can play games from the other older systems anywhere I go with the emulators available however I am getting more and more impressed with the PS3 - especially the connectivity they are introducing with the PSP.

I highly doubt you beat the co-op campaign in under an hour. Halo 3 really looks great when you take the time to look at the details, the lighting is also much better than GoW's, the story has a great plot, but you definitely need to pay attention, and have knowledge of the previous games. If you beat it anywhere ever remotely close to the time that you said you did, you must have skipped all of the cinematics, which obviously would have meant not understanding the story. There is also tons of nice replayability options with Halo 3's campaign that GoW's doesn't have, like 4 player co-op, and hidden skulls which change gameplay. GoW is definitely a good game, and it definitely gets points for being an all around great game, but Halo 3 surpasses it in a few different ways in my opinion. I also prefer the graphics of Halo 3 to GoW.

Personally, I like the art style of GoW better, but I don't like the character design at all. I also don't see anyone finishing the Halo 3 campaign in under an hour on any setting no matter how god-like your skills are. But it was a bit short :p And with little knowledge of the first 2 games, the story lost me, too. They need some kind of video primer or something.
That said, if you are even a slight sci-fi fan, you must purchase Mass Effect this instant. Don't even finish reading this post... if you were turned off by KoToR's combat, you'll be happy to know that Mass Effect has a cover system similar to GoW's, and even that wierd run thing, but without the bouncy, shaky cam.

Halo 3 is definitely short. With a 4 man co-op I believe we did it in something around four and a half hours. I bet with skipping the cut-scenes and less messing around it could be done in three and a half.
Been playing lots of Hellgate: London lately, especially since I can play on the UX with my summoner via EVDO. Not great performance by any respect, but good enough that I can walk the line of summons around.

Alright, to tell you the truth it was probably closer to 2.1 hours. (no messing, cutting all cinematics.) (felt like 1. :P) I had already watched him play it single player benz, so I know how the story went. It was very short though. I thought it was a little easy though, especially on legendary. I ended up "forgetting" my Ipod up there and having to go back up, so needless to say, we finished gears of war. You are totally right Rors, Mass Effect does look awesome. Since I do not currently have an xbox though, I probably wont be getting it for a while. It will be the second game I get though. (Rock band being first.)

I'm a casual gamer. The last game I properly finished was Half-Life 2, and that took ages. I like games I can quickly get into, and quickly get out of. Involved plots are nice but I prefer something more straightforward.
NFS: Prostreet has me a bit hooked at the moment. I can understand the lukewarm reviews for this game but I also think it's good that it's not a totally accurate driving experience,
I love the car customisation options and how you can totally tweak how the car looks. Right now I'm all about pimping and drifting the old-school 240sx :D
