Lightbulb Travel Adapter 2.5mm jack does audio line out without video
I wanted to show a video clip on the projector in the conference room. Problem is the amplifier was expecting a line-out and the headphone socket signal was way too soft. Fortunately I remembered the "all-in-one" TV jack on the bottom of the travel adapter does line-out and that that jack design is supposed to be backward compatible to a regular audio jack without the video.

I'm guessing that whatever generates the composite video signal detects the short of the composite pin and turns it off. I guess this because we got a ticking noise through the speakers for a few seconds every time we conected it.

It worked just great: plug in the audio cable to the TV jack and we got usable sound while using the VGA for video. I think it was even stereo although with the room's ceiling speaker set up it was hard to tell.

Time for everyone at work to phear my 'leet Powerpoint audio mad skilz!
