wow that resolution is what gets me. I mean ive seen 10inch UMPCs with only a measly 1024x600 resolution so 1600x768 (albeit an odd resolution but so is 1024x600) is impressive imo. Also built in wireless N is very nice. Ill be interested to see reviews on this. Being a sony product you can definitely cut that battery time in half :P
EDIT: hmm I actually cant tell, is it not touch screen? EDIT2: well after a bit more reading it is not. Oh look there goes all my interest out the window ![]()

All I know is I want one real bad but with all new SONY products it is best to wait 6 months and they will improve on this model and add more memory and larger HD. I got burned running to the store and getting the UX180 and then 3 months later the UX280 came out with more memory and larger HD. It is well worth the price with the GPS built in and Verizon (which is my phone carrier) card and 2 gig of Ram, Vista Home. The instant on OS is so killer that alone is worth the high price. The downside is the piano gloss and it will be a finger print magnet that sucks
But over all I want one and I am not sure if I should wait to see what happens or grab one right away? Me want one ![]() BTW anyone want to by a brand new UX380 with a 60 GIG HD that has been used once?

Definitely a NO BUY for me... My Fujitsu U2010 is much better than this... and the VAIO P is a total disgrace to the line of SONY Picturebook... What a shame!! Sony...

Doesnt fit in your pocket. That means its like every other sub-note on the planet. Sure the odd resolution is nice, but if I have to carry it in a backpack, then Im getting a real notebook. The OQO is nice, but that screen is pitiful 800X480, are they retarded?
The way I see it, there is no replacement on the market for the UX and until that happens, I wont be able to get excited about any portable device. |

Edit: Also, the OQO's resolution isn't pathetic (at least for it's size). The UX is just superior to it. =Þ

Well, I DO like the thing and I'm sure they'll sell quite a few of them...BUT there are quite a few other UMPC's these days - and some of them seem better than this one. This one is just a liiiiitle but too big, and it's not touch screen either. If it was a tablet I'd be more impressed. Best thing I see about it is indeed the screen resolution and the 2gig of memory. The pricing is good comparied to some of the other leading UMPC's
http://www.geekstuff4u.com/notebooks/umpc-handheld ...but if I was going to buy one right now I'd probably up of the extra $ and get one of the Fujitsu U2010's. Sure would be nice if we could get more memory in our UX's.... |

I love Sony products and I want to want it, but I don't. I want to be impressed by it, but I'm not. I have 5 Vaios and this one does nothing for me. The specs don't impress me (other than the screen). The size doesn't impress me (the UX is smaller). The joystick doesn't impress me (I have one on my Vaio folding keyboard already). The Atom processor doesn't impress me. I have to admit that it is "cute", but I could buy 2 MSI Winds instead of 1 P Series and get just about the same specs.
