Well the one that I have is actually from a Mac. It is Apple branded as an Airport card. Here is the exact link that I used to buy it... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ht_1829wt_1008

Be aware it takes a long time to recieve the package, about two weeks in my case. But it is cheap and they don't charge you for shipping. I can verify that it works out of the box on Windows 7, there was also a driver update for it on Window Update... I know for a fact it will work on OSX because it is a Mac WiFi card... can't get much more official than that.

It is super easy to open the UX and replace the WiFi card.... you need a #00 phillips screwdriver

Sorry for reopen this thread, but today I finally install this card (the exactly one in the ebay link posted before), and I have few comments:
- the prevos Intel card was connected to antennas from both sides. I mean, comparing to Atheros ,should be lines 2 and 0, not 1 and 0.
- then, after installing it as you say, 1 and 0, I get less wifi signal!!
- the smart wii doesn't recognize the wifi...and the yellow led of wifi signal is winking al the time, even I'm connected and surfing...

Help!!!

Ok, before I was posting on Win7, and right now on Snow Leopard 10.6. On Mac is working perfect, getting perfect signal strength, and autorecognized! So this is good! Maybe on Win 7 I have to modify configuration options?
Thanks comptuercowboy!

Well, I'm back on Win7, and tried to change antenna connections, to 2 and 0, keeping 1 unconnected...and think signal is even worst.
mmm...Why did you decided to use those connections? Should I ask for a new card? As far as I can see, the performance is worst than stock one...
Or maybe I can buy the third antenna, like this:
http://cgi.ebay.es/the-third-MIMO-An...item35a3f03c69
will I get better (and better than before!) signal?

Thanks!

with windows 7 it must be the driver or something... you are right... you want to find a way to connect every socket to an antenna. I have another airport card that only has 2 ports on it and that one works much better in the UX with windows 7.

I think if you add that flat antenna from your ebay link it would work perfectly fine.

The Intel card that I had worked fine in XP on 2 antennas... it didn't work at all in Win7.

So either get a card that has 2 ports only or get a third antenna or hook the third antenna port to the WWAN antenna.

I thought you were ordering an airport card that only had 2 ports on it, that is what I remember from the picture... perhaps I remembered wrong. I would love to know how the flat antenna works out in the UX. I still have my 3 port airport card, if there was a good third antenna solution that didn't involve the WWAN antenna I would try it.

So many thanks. I've seen that on MacOS the signal is weak too... I just ordered the third antenna, let's see how it works...Gonna wait couple of weeks...So, any instructions on connecting the 3 antennas? Any special order? And where in the UX will the antenna be better located?
So many thanks, I've checked the driver on Win 7, and try another one, and both works same.
Again, thanks. Lets see how is with third antenna.

I would love to get it working with antenna 3... I think that the flat antenna has an adhesive... you can stick it on the back of the back part of the case inside... just don't block the vents for air intake!
