Default Phone Shopping!
Ack! So many choices. My contract is up in April, and I may not be able to wait that long since my current phone is at about 75% general workability. I know phones, but I don't KNOW phones. And since we have so many gadget junkies in here, I figure someone will be able to help me pick a phone, right?

While I haven't used a Nokia phone in 5+ years, I'm psyched over the latest iterations of the N95. Unfortunately, they still haven't nailed it for me yet.

One has 8GB flash memory and the other has HSDPA (for the U.S.)... why, Nokia can't you give me both in the same device?

The N81 looks promising, but if I can't game against others at 3G speeds, then how noticeable will my disadvantage be?

I'm more than willing to go in another direction. I know I won't be able to acquire the holy grail of convergence, but 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Here are my 3:
  1. Hi-speed connect (EVDO, HSDPA, etc.)
  2. Nice camera (good quality 3MP+)
  3. Hard Drive or expandable memory up to 4GB

Things like GPS or a touch screen are bonuses to me. Can any phone gurus throw some advice my way?

I use an N73, mainly because of an offer 3 gave me. Wicked phone, much better battery life then any other n-series offering i've seen.

I've not yet stepped into the world of uber high price cell phones so I can't recommend anything in that realm, however I've used the standard high end phones and tend to be a fan of Samsung and Sony Ericsson.

Yeah, I'm now in the process of intense research on the fancy-schmancy Ericssons. My younger brother had an K800i, and the camera shots were pretty sweet, but the joystick broke after 6 months.

After narrowing it down to a Helio Ocean, an N95 and an iPhone... I got an Iphone. Best phone I've ever owned. Once it gets 3G, I will be in heaven. That is all.

Enjoy, but for me it's still pretty much just a fancy voice device. I never got what all the fuss is about any phone, Iphone or otherwise. I'll stick with my highly capable generic "whatever comes free with my plan" phone, work great for voice and limited text and that's all I need.

I've an n93 but I really falling in love for Apple's iPhone! I am awaiting the European launch or better the Italian distribution... anyway I already pre-ordered the iPod Touch 16Gb: it's simply stunning!

You are going on phone Shopping than many suggestion give. You are fined out how much model available as your requirement. You are compered other company phone price list and feature.
