Anyone that is having screen flickering try this driver. I uploaded this to rapidshare for people using xp like myself. I deleted the recovery partition and did a custom install of xp pro sp3. I tried every driver possible on my 280p and still had flickering. The one on sony's website didn't flicker but I couldn't switch the display out to my external monitor. After many different drivers, and a few restores, I found an older driver, I believe for the 915gm chipset, that has worked flawlessly for me for the past 2 weeks without a single flicker. I can output to my plasma tv or external monitor, no issues. Everything works. Once again I'm on a ux280p with xp pro sp3. I hope this helps someone.

Were you having issues before? I don't have any game to try it out. You only get this when playing certain games?

Well, this thread is almost three years old by now. For video drivers, I'd go to the Intel site & get the latest for the UX's 945GMS chipset/ 950GMA. For XP, that would be winxp_14324.exe.

Thannnnnnkssssss. You know I thought it was my LCD flexible there for opened the UX twice to make sure the flex is in well. So it was a crappy graphics update! Some of us need the update but for what I use the UX for this is perfect! No more screen flickering!!!!! What a relief. Feeeeeeewwwwww!
It was irritating. Vaio UX280P |
