Default Camera working fine with kernels 2.6.30 and up
There is an updated version of the driver that works fine for the kernel I'm currently using: 2.6.31. It will probably compile cleanly for 2.6.32 too.

You can download it here:

http://www.palmix.org/download/r5u870_k … 86.tar.bz2

Just do the standard make & make install, and load the driver.

Further explanation of different versions of the driver for Vaio Ricoh cameras can be found here:
http://www.arakhne.org/ricoh/

Unfortunately the ability to switch CCDs is not available yet.

Thats good news. Thx for the heads up.

What distro are you using? 9.04 ubuntu currently only has 2.6.28 kernel and 9.10 does not work with the display, although it has 2.6.31.

the driver works great, as long as you cold start your ux. Resume from hibernation and the camera is not not available no more, even sudo modprobe ... does not bring it back. Seems only way is to shut down and restart, then camera works again
