wow what a deal!!
I will definitely go check the local frys tomorrow. Btw, I just checked frys online, and it doesnt show any Sony UX anymore. All they have are the TZs and SZs. It seems like they are trying to get rid of it from their inventory. That happened to my Fujitfu P1510d when I got mine. Sure enough the P1610 was out soon after. Thanks for the info man. Really appreciate it. |

You're right on clearing out the stock at Fry's. I meant to mention that the price tag for the UX Series was red. The salesman indicated that red tags are for items they're purging out of the inventory. Good luck!
While the UX is on the way out, the Samsung Q1 Ultra has a bright, corner-shelf kiosk. I asked the Fry's clerks if they were anticipating a successor to the UX. He said it had more to do with the models not being as popular with the customers as the Samsung or the ultraportables. He had no information on a new line (same as us, I believe). PS - I tell my wife that the sale was on a red tag. She says "Duh, you didn't know what a red tag meant?". Of course, she said that in a nice way. Best Buy has their remaining UX380N stock for $1499. I know a couple of folks who have gotten it down to $1200 based on the price comparison with our local Fry's.

I got one... I dont know if I should be excited or relieved. I spent so much time deciding whether I really should get one or not.... Ended up getting the UX280P through Onsale for 1049... 999 with rebate.

Definitely looks like Sony is moving out the old to bring in the new. Buy.com has the UX-380N on sale for $999, which seems a killer deal.
http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...70&dcaid=17070 This would also make me jump to the UX camp, but the short battery life is still a deal killer for me. I already have an Everun in fedex coming to me, since I needed something to replace my Palm T/C. |

I'm assuming someone can verify that buy.com is a legit retailer?

Very legit...I have used them often. Good service always so far. I would not hesitate to buy from them.

If you are near or have friends realtives near a border state, you could rent a mailbox for a short period and ship there...had a friend in Canada years ago and she would ship things over the line into NY state and pick them up. Not sure what she told customs...if anything ...LOL
