Try this:
1. Right-click on my computer. 2. Click on properties. 3. Go to the Hardware tab and click on the Device Manager button. 4. Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section. 5. Right-click on the 5th USB Root Hub icon and select Properties. 6. Click on the Power Management tab. 7. Uncheck the box next to "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power." 8. Click OK. 9. Close the Device Manager. 10. Click OK on the System Properties window. 11. Restart the computer. Let us know if it works. |

Hi Reggie, all,
I am having the same problem, but only sometimes. I checked the USB Root hub settings and they're all enabled as you advised. Not sure what to do now...... its really annoying. FYI I have TabletPC 2005 OS installed (English). Anyone else stuck like this? |

Attention, please repeat the step 5 to step 7, disable it, seems you leave them all enabled.

Thanks a lot Lennon! That will teach me to read a post properly next time! :-)
It is working fine so far with the item disabled. I will hold off judgement for a few days since it has done this before (problem disappeared for a while and then came back) but hopefully thius time it's gone for good... Thanks again! |

can anyone further elaborate on what the 5th USB Root Hub is doing that prevents the shutdown of the UX?
and why does turning off "power management" on this fix the results? thanks!! |

if you look at the "Power" tab you will see that that hub hosts the camera and for some reason the driver for the camera does not like standby mode with windows controlling the power. Disabling windows control of the power management fixex this issue.
