Wink Plastic Stand for UX180P
For those that are interested.. Sony Parts did the research and now offers the plastic stand that WASN'T included with the UX180P. Its a bit pricy, but then again if you want it I guess you'll pay. Twenty Bux!

------------ Original Info Request & Response -------------

Thank you for contacting Sony's Direct Accessories and Parts Center (DAPC USA).
Your question was: Vaio UX "stand" goes on back of VGN-UX180P to prop unit when not on docking station. Included in Japanese UX models, but not USA model.

The items you requested are listed below.

Item - ( STAND ), 268933301, $22.31 ea.

You may place your order using the link below or call 1-800-488-7669.

Default Hey thanks for the info..
Cool, I was kind of BENT because they always release the cool stuff in Japan and we get nothing but the left overs or the stuff that they think we will not use?? Who knows but I am glad they have it avalable for purchase. What else are they holding back on??

So do you have to remove the stand before docking it into the docking station?

Yes you do. I have it on my UX90ps. If you look at the back plate on the dock it has a rail that goes into the same slot on the back of the UX.

So you have to carry around the docking bay or not use power with this stand?

That's no good. So much for portability...
