Now, here is my story.
I was thinking about upgrade the CPU when I had 390. That time, I can't find any source for ULV C2D processor lower than $350. I ended up and sold my 390. Now, I got another one, 280 and fortunately, I found a board which has U7600 for just $150. In addition, I also have an equipment to deal with laptop repair, so I wanna give it a try. Finally, I am successful.

I have tested and noticed that, there is no change in battery life. I used Battery Monitor from PassMark.
This is for lowest battery life. I played a video over wifi. This is for maximum battery life.

About the heat, I don't feel any difference between C2D and Core Solo.
