You can download W7 here

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win.../download.aspx

I can't find anywhere what build it is but this is the most recent download page. This is the same version I downloaded and like I said, I have not had any problems using remote desktop.

Thanks, I've tried these links o post #44 and either they do not load (overloaded servers) or the files say they have been deleted - probably due to a period of inactivity.

Hallo.
I'm from Italy and I just can give you this address: http://www.windowsette.com/
from this you can download the W7 RTM 7600 release (in english language). If you don't understand Italian language I believe that you can download w7 very easly.
Bye

There is no point in installing 64bit OS unless you have minimum 2GB of Ram. UX has 1GB Ram max. at the moment. Unless we hear something soon from Anh

Actually, I'm interested in the 64bit version, because, I can expand the memory capacity using Ready-Boost (built into W7 and Vista) and use an Ultra Highspeed Memory Pro Stick Duo to expand the memory!!! Should be effective?

I looked into a 32GB that's out now... WOW!!

http://www.dpreview.com/news/0907/09...prohgduohx.asp

Now only to confirm the 7600 build of W7 and start again...

My 32bit 7100 build is a new install so not much has been added... for what it takes to format and re-install I should be back up and running within the hour!

It's weird that last weekend I downloaded, from Microsofts beta test site, and they still publish the 7100 build when the 7600 build was already released. hmm?

I'm downloading both 32bit and 64bit versions from a torrent site

The question is, does the SONY UX driver packs (shared again below) support the 64bit architecture or ONLY 32bit? I suspect it doesn't matter...

I don't remember what version of VISTA business was originally installed on my UX490 (32 or 64bit)? Anyone know?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Remote Connect Desktop to work... I use this feature a lot for connecting my UX!

Exclamation Windows 7 Driver Pack
(removed old link, download HERE)

Unzip (~80MB) and run the exe file. It will create a folder with all the drivers read the text file for instruction... it's simple.

PRAXXUS, I don't believe ready boost expands your system memory. It's more like adding an external SSD because W7 can temporarily write to a flash drive quicker than a conventional Hard Drive. If you replace your HDD with a SSD, ready boost will not make your system any faster. Also, I believe 4GB is the max. that ready boost will use so it does not matter if you get a 32GB MS unless you plan on using the extra GB for storage.

Check out the system requirements
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...uirements.aspx

1GB for 32bit, 2GB for 64bit.

1GB for 32bit, 2GB for 64bit.
I understand the system requirements, however it's unclear if Ready Boost will act as additional system RAM or simply assist in HDD caching?

MS Ready Boost Info Here

Please tell me it's a possible solution for our UX.

BTW - believe it or not, I'm seriously considering replacing the SSD for a large capacity HDD (capacity is more important than the small speed loss in performance) - besides Ready Boost might be the performance boost I need to get me back to where I was with the SSD.
