Postby Benz145 » Mon Nov 09, 2009 21:52

Anyone tried getting Android going on the UX? Maybe some resources from here could help?

Looks like you can download a live USB stick or installable ISO, however the touchscreen won't work by default, not sure if it is enableable or not, but maybe some of you awesomly smart guys can figure it out : P

Hi mates,
I just installed the v1.6 on my UX1XN and yes, touch feature doesn't work. The WiFi module isn't supported as well as the graphic chipset looks as not supported directly (animations are not smooth).
The audio is missed too... the only great thing after a fresh installation is the boot ^^ Anyway I'd like to keep involved into the active porting of this platform for our system.

Just saw this article:
http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/11/viewsonic-intros-dual-sim-v350-smartphone-windows-7-android-d/

...and wonder why Android is not still a big priority to port to pc! Our UX would be the biggest UMPC with 4 boot possibilities: Wn, Mac, Linux and Android! Perfect machine! Nobody is working on this? I've been doing some google, and a project dead on 2009 is the only site found...

Let's make this happen!

(Samsug Tab? Crap! Get an amazing UX!!) ;)

I did install it on my acer aspire one ages ago but its boot up was not like a phone. The vertion you guys are using is desined for testing. What you need it to rip a real coppy off a new netbook that dule boots android
