Android-X86 4.0 Custom target/kernel for Vaio UX

Postby Ksul » Fri Aug 10, 2012 22:22

Hi folks! Having recently tried android-x86 ics on the vaio ux I noticed some interesting things working ootb. The touchscreen, thumb stick, gma 950, battery detection and instant on/off are all working. I didn't test vga out capability. Sound should need an easy edit to get that working. The camera switching works but the cameras both output bars of varying colors ie you can't actually see anything. I don't know whether or not the intel wifi works. if I make a custom target for compilation I'll just include various wifi modules. I'm using an apple bcm94322MC and it did not work, therefore I'll be including a module for that card too. I'll also include core2 optimization in the kernel. This will be my first time compiling the linux kernel, so wish me the best of luck. It doesn't seem too complicated though.

PS: I saw another thread about android-x86 but the last post was in '11 and there was alot of fluff in it. If I'm successful I'll write out a guide for you folks and try to provide an iso image.

Same here! I'm anxious to see how this goes -- and if you need help testing anything in any way, yell! I've done some minor developing in Android, but never messed with anything to do with Android-x86....
