Charging issue

Postby Fxx » Sat Sep 19, 2015 18:01

This is very strange my ux it's charging only after i turn it on with the battery in and plug the ac charger in after that then it charge, but if i leave the ac charger in and turn it on then it's not turn on and charging, so everytime i want to charge the battery i have to turn on with the battery in first and after that plug in the ac charger then it's charging. It hapoen same when i put in the docking station. If the charging port on the ux is broke then it's not charging at all even after i turn it on with the battery. So the charging port working only after i turn it on with the battery.Anyone know what's the problem is?

Have you got more than one battery to test with?

If it does this to multiple batteries, I suspect there must be something faulty internally. The battery charging circuit is independent of OS, so it is more than likely something hardware. Have you tried swapping out the power regulator section of the UX. That is the part that has the docking power and DC adapter attached and the mini PCI-e slot. Although not the same issue, I have found any power reliability issues can be resolved by replacing this part. The Sony UX UMPC is getting rather old, and there are bound to be issues at times. Most internal parts of the UX are easily replaced with the exception of the mainboard as it an Anh Special U7700 CPU mod.

Good luck

maybe you need to get one of these non working UX for parts

It seems getting spare parts for the Sony UX is getting harder every year the UX gets older!
