This is how I did it awhile back. The square green pcb at the bottom of the first pic is a 3.3 to 5V converter. Above that is part of an IC 'breadboard' I used to connect wires to the ZIF socket. It plugs into the flexcable that's part of the hdd/usb cable. That cable has 3.3V power & an unused usb data line. So I didn't have to disturb the UX usb port or solder anything to the UX itself. You need to be able to do fine/small solder work to build this ( the .5mm pitch zif socket pins are REALLY small the first time I looked at them)

Don't quite get you

Is this what you mean:
So last year you bought a UX1XN from Anh which did arrive, but you were not happy with the upgraded unit, and want your money back?

I have dealt with Anh multiple times, and all communication via email has been fantastic. His service is prompt, and he delivered exactly what I wanted. My Anh modified core2 UX is nearly one year running now, and it has been nothing short of amazing.

Strange... I have had many UXs transformed by Anh, and I also read a lot this forum.... and I never had/seen/heard of any issue with him or with one of his shipment.

What did you buy exactly?
