Please let me know what they answer for this request

Hi harryfokker,

When I read your posts about the 100 click 5.0.2 driver issues for Windows 8 Pro I became interested in acquiring it so that I could find out if the issues were resolved. On 11/10/12, I tested the 5.0.2 driver after downloading it from the link that you have mentioned in one of your posts. Unfortunately, the 5.0.2 driver still had the touch panel suspend issue after sleep and shutdown.

However, I revisited this after reading the reply from Dave (Touch-Base) to darkerx that the suspend issue was fixed in the 5.0.2 driver and was available for downloading at the Touch-Base website.

On 12/01/12 I downloaded the 100 click 32-bit 5.0.2 version from the Touch-Base website to test again the original suspend issue.

I have installed the new 5.0.2 driver in the Windows 8 Pro RTM version (based on an upgrade installation over Windows 7.)

The 5.0.2 32-bit driver was now working with out any problems after placing my UX380N in sleep, and after a shutdown as noted before as a suspend issue by reading the various posts in the forum.

However, I did loose the use of the touch panel later while using Windows 8 Pro to navigate the new tile interface. I could only use the track pointer to click. All attempts to get the touch working on the touch panel suddenly failed after I had used the track pointer to click.

Then, I discovered the solution that now works for me in every situation sleep, shutdown, touching the tiles on the new interface start panel, tapping the keys on the Touch-Base keyboard or the icons on the older windows desktop, and switching back and forth between touching and clicking.

My solution was to recheck the 5.0.2 driver installation in Windows 8 Pro. Since I didn't have any Windows 8 Pro installation guidelines for the driver, I used as an installation model for how it was done for Windows 7 under post #2 in this thread 'OMFG! Windows 7 drivers for GUNZE TOUCHPANEL!!!.'

For some wierd reason when I first checked to go to delete the old 'GUNZE USB HID Device' driver successfully, and then delete the old 'GUNZE USB Touch Panel' driver in the device manager this second touch panel driver didn't show up under "Mice and other pointing devices". I had assumed it was gone and proceeded to do the first install of the 5.0.2 driver, never looking back at the device manager. Soon, after I had noticed the touch panel suspend issue.

However, the second time I was much more careful. I had restored Windows 8 Pro from a partition backup taken prior to the 5.0.2 driver installation. On the second attempt to install the 5.0.2 driver, right after the deletion of the first hid driver I restarted Windows 8 Pro then I did a recheck in device manager. Amazingly the old 'GUNZE USB Touch Panel' driver appeared in the device manager. This was really strange so I deleted it and restarted. Then, I installed the new 5.0.2 driver.

Everything now works successfully. There aren't any known driver touch panel suspend issues that I have found. Knock on wood!

I hope that my solution above will give an idea to help others faced with similar touch panel suspend issues.

Thank you for your help with understanding what the issues were with this driver.

For anyone who bought this driver, you can email Touch-Base to request an updated version which is v5.0.2.
I did this and Dave sent me both 32bit and 64bit. It works perfect in Windows 8.

Hello all,
Is it still possible to buy the driver license at the reduced price?
Anything would be better than the 171 usd they are asking for on Touch-Base website
