In that case would syncing of the outlook .pst file work? just to have the source for both outlooks the same (on desktop + UX)....

Question by daPartyGoer:
exactly which syn software are you talking about? is there special syncing software on the UX ?

I think Bartsin is asking about SyncToy which is listed as the first useful program. Also the UX ordered from Sony will have UltraSync.
Unfortunately, I haven't used either program so I won't know the answer until my UX shows up.

Exactly! I just wanted to know - if it is possible to keep both outlooks (home desktop + UX) synchronised directly.

There is ofcourse one easy solution- via ActiveSync. You just need third device -PDA or smartphone.

Since I am using my WM5 mobile phone (Qtek 9100)- it will be my case in the begining.

Hi there!

I have found quite nice solution for syncing the 2 outlook (desktop + UX).
with this software : http://www.synchpst.com/index.htm

you can sync only the part of the .pst otlook file you want to (i.e. calendar + conntacts) then you transfer the .pst file to UX + ovewrite the otlook file on the UX. And you can choose if you want to sync all data or for example only the future appointments, only active tasks etc...

might be usefull.

I have a call into Sony support about their Ultra Sync. On the overview under, Ingenious Design, Sony states: "And pre-installed Ultra Sync software makes it easy to synchronize the UX Micro PC with your other computers, so you can hit the road with all of your materials up to date. "

I couldn't find the Ultra Sync software and neither could any of their techs, via chat or phone. After sending up to second level techs, they said they'd have an engineer call me back. The manual is useless. After printing it off and pasting a pdf version to my desktop for easy access and search, I couldn't even find a mention of the program in it.

Anyway, Ultra Sync is what made me decide to take the plunge. Hopefully it really exists (Ha, Ha).

Also very cool, if you have a TiVo, is TiVo Desktop! Download TV shows from your TiVo and the UX is a nice little portable viewer. :) Just don't uninstall WinDVD, because it turns out that also deletes the codec you need to play the TiVo shows. Mm, learning the hard way...
